New foldable phone hits the market with a tougher screen
Manufacturer bets on a reinforced hinge and a new generation of ultra-thin glass to fix common foldable complaints.
After years of complaints about foldable screen durability, a new model hits the market promising to fix the issue with a reinforced hinge and a new generation of ultra-thin glass.
According to the manufacturer, the device went through more than 300,000 fold cycles in lab tests without showing visible creases on the screen.
The smartphone also brings a bigger battery and improved cameras compared to the previous model, while keeping a competitive price within the foldable category.
Analysts see the launch as an important step toward making foldables mainstream beyond the early-adopter niche.
